Description
Beatrix Potter (1866-1943) was an English author, illustrator, natural scientist, and conservationist best known for her imaginative children's books featuring animals such as those in The Tale Of Peter Rabbit. She bought Hill Top Farm in 1905 in order to reside in the Lake District of England, one of her favorite places. When I was a small child my mother read the Beatrix Potter stories to me and when I had children I enjoyed sharing the stories with them. I almost felt I knew her personally and painting her house gave me a sense of nostalgia for the era in which she lived.
"Believe there is a great power silently working all things for good, behave yourself and never mind the rest." ~ Beatrix Potter, Merry Christmas, Peter Rabbit
