Description
The Magnolia is named for the French Botanist, Pierre Magnal (1638-1715). The Chinese call the Magnolia hou po.
It is known to symbolize purity, beauty, and nobility. This variety is also known as Southern Magnolia and is often used as a wedding flower to symbolize the beauty, nobility, and purity of the bride.
I captured this blossom in Washington, D. C. on the campus of George Washington University.
