Description
"Forever is a long time, but I wouldn't mind spending it by your side." ~ Author Unknown
The Canvasback is a species of diving duck, the largest found in North America. It ranges from 48-56 cm. in length and weighs 862-1588 grams (1.9-3.5 lbs) and has a wing span of 79-89 cm. They lay 5-11 eggs when nesting. An item of interest is that canvas backs often lay their eggs in the nests of other canvasbacks, and the Redhead duck often parasitizes the canvasback duck's nests.~ ref. Wikipedia
I have to say I like the gentle beauty of the female canvasback, so I made her the star of the show in this painting. Subtlety often goes underrated. :)
