Description
Chives lend a beautiful magic to the herb garden in spring. Blooming in May and June, the Allium Schoenoprasum, or chives, can be used as a salad garnish, and are beneficial to rose bushes as they emit an odor which repels aphids.
Regarding growing chives;
"I have to laugh whenever I think of chives because it reminds me of what a seasoned gardener said to me years ago: If you can't grow chives, find another hobby." ~ author unknown

Lovely, watercolour Angela...my chives are normally blooming just in time for Spring Tea and the blossom heads either find their way as Part of an edible plate decoration or become tossed into a spring salad...perfect compliment to the colour palette and taste palette of bitter and mustardy spring greens!...Yours Can bloom in any kitchen art...all year!...v...best to you!!..LF

Thanks so much Tom. They are in bloom here right now, so just couldn't resist doing them in watercolor.
