Description
Dotty knew she was different the first time she swam with the other sea horses in the current. Her tail turned up in the back, not under her chin like the other seahorses, and she was covered with spots. But she decided that she was beautiful just as she was and that being herself was the best way to show it, she was lucky to be different from the others and she would never change. She decided to carry herself confidently and proudly as she swam in the current, and noticed that the others did not seem to notice that she was different, or if they did, they kept it to themselves.
Seahorses are actually considered fish and the Latin name for them is hippocampus. Latin word hippo means horse, and campus means sea monster. Though it is hard to imagine how such a tiny and beautiful little creature could ever be referred to as a monster.
