Dried roses remind me of the beautiful film stars from the past. Their classic beauty, if anything, seems enhanced by time. As I captured this rose, I thought of the eponymous 1964 film, Hush Hush Sweet Charlotte, starring Bette Davis, Olivia de Haviland,Joseph Cotton, Agnes Moorehead, Cecil Kellaway and Mary Astor. The song,Hush Hush Sweet Charlotte, became a hit recording in 1965 for Patti Page.
There is no AI art or photography on my site. The beauty of nature inspires my work. I especially enjoy floral photography, still life, and landscapes as well as working with a variety of subjects in my fine art, which includes colored pencil, watercolor and acrylic paintings. Most recently I have added several digital paintings combining hand paintings with digital enhancements or creating original photography inspired digital paintings from my own photography in addition to my exclusively hand painted or drawn works. Animals, birds, children, still life, and flowers are favorite subjects. I especially love capturing the personality of the animals that I paint through the expressions in their eyes.
