Description
This watercolor was based on my memory of a pet sheep, who thought she was the family dog and quite often escaped her pasture to sleep in my mother's flower garden. As a child I led her around with a collar and leash and she loved to climb our front porch steps and butt her head against the door. Perhaps because when she did this I sneaked out with a saltine cracker for her. She was our only sheep and must have been lonely without a herd to join. When I was a little older we sold her to a farm where there were lots of sheep for her to join. I imagine she missed me, but not as much as I missed her.

A delightful painting and story, Angela. One of the colts in our field, once I let her out the gate, would follow me everywhere. I know how you feel! V/F

They make amazing pets! I had one that grew up with our horses and thought she was one too, infact she became the leader of the herd! Always bucking and bossing the horses around! L/F

She was definitely a favorite pet of mine. Our cat used to ride around on her back in the winter to stay cozy and warm. That was such a cute sight. Wish I had just one picture. :)
