Description
This is a tulip shaped blossom on a large tree called the Tulip Poplar, which is also the Indiana State tree. They are so tall that you can seldom see their blossoms, unless they fall. They are so showy and beautiful, so a shame they are usually hidden. This one was on a low hanging branch, so I was able to capture it here in Pennsylvania during late May.

I notice these tulip poplar blossoms so often in early summer. It is a joy seeing this detailed beauty in your gallery Angela. F/L.
