Description
In Love With Winter
A deep breath of cold air,
And over the edge,
Down the slope,
With the swish of skis,
On groomed snow,
Feeling full of hope,
Skiing allows me,
To fall in love,
With winter, again~ Angela Davies
I miss the days I spent skiing, fighting the elements and going out even on foggy and windy days. I recently tried a mind of watercolor exercise, just letting wet on wet watercolor paint its own scene, adding a few details like the skiers and close up tree top and stones with a small scrub tree, staying with a simple palette of just blue, green, and sienna brown. Immediately, as the watercolors wandered on wet watercolor paper I saw this scene appear, such fun and a bit like going skiing without the cold wind.

I like this more simplified version of this picture just as much as the version you used for the card!
Angela Davies replied:
Thanks so much Linda, so kind of you to say so! I have to agree, even after Christmas it will resonate with those who love winter. At least until February when it loses its charm. :)

What a wonderful image and what a great way to describe this creativity "a bit like going skiing without the cold wind." Brilliant turn of phrase. Thank you for sharing your poetry in the Artist's BUZZz poetry thread!

Thanks so much Marsha, it was great fun doing it as I did. Not as easy as it sounds, tried another yesterday which went strait to the garbage bin. :)
