I captured these silver blue cedar berries on a recent hike and added digital effects and text for Christmas. The humble cedar happens to be my favorite Christmas tree due to it's wonderful aroma and the memories I associate it with from my childhood. When I was young growing up on a farm, we had many cedar trees on our land, so we used them for our Christmas trees. My dad and I would go out alone with a sled or wagon and carry them home. It was a special time that I remember as having his undivided attention and love. There may be more elegant trees, but the cedar will always be my favorite and the little berries coming out in late fall look like nature's ornaments just waiting for the holiday season.
There is no AI art or photography on my site. The beauty of nature inspires my work. I especially enjoy floral photography, still life, and landscapes as well as working with a variety of subjects in my fine art, which includes colored pencil, watercolor and acrylic paintings. Most recently I have added several digital paintings combining hand paintings with digital enhancements or creating original photography inspired digital paintings from my own photography in addition to my exclusively hand painted or drawn works. Animals, birds, children, still life, and flowers are favorite subjects. I especially love capturing the personality of the animals that I paint through the expressions in their eyes.
