Description
I did this study a few years ago of an Eastern Phoebe. It is done in watercolor on watercolor paper and is currently hanging in my dining room. It has a subtle beauty and I especially loved this plain little bird with a sparkle in her eye. She sat outside my studio window watching me for several days and I was impressed with her intelligence which shows in her eyes.
The Eastern Phoebe is a flycatcher and also a songbird eating primarily insects and some berries. They can live up to ten years. An item of interest is that they were one of the first banded birds in America by John James Audubon in 1804.
