Description
I captured this tulip poplar tree blossom in late spring on the Gettysburg Battlefield in front of an old split rail fence. These trees can be found growing wild in Pa. woodlands and their blossoms are usually not noticeable, even though large and bright yellow, because they are so high up on very tall trees. But in late spring they begin to fall and you will see them lying wilted on the ground beneath the trees. This tree had a low hanging branch which allowed me to capture a blossom while still on the tree. They are quite large.

This is such a special and quite unique image Angela. I can't say I have ever seen this particular flower, but would love to. Excellent presentation. Susan
