While out walking on a lane through the woods, I was looking down to avoid tripping as there were many bumps and cracks in the pavement, when surprisingly I spotted a beautiful violet blooming within one of the many cracks in the road. This is a busy road through a park and I was amazed how well the violet was doing there, with only the tiniest bit of damage on one leaf. A reminder of the persistence of nature. A reminder to "Bloom where you are!" We spend so much of our lives worrying, what if this or that happens, the world is a dangerous place, etc. etc. Yet, here was a delicate little flower surviving and blooming in perhaps the most dangerous spot you could find. This moment of discovery lifted my mood for the whole day.
