Description
This acrylic on canvas painting was done a few years ago of McPherson's Barn located on the Gettysburg Battlefield and shows the back side of the barn facing West. The late afternoon shadows intrigued me and I could not resist doing a painting. This painting was entered in the Historic Gettysburg Adams County Barn Art show and received a People's Choice Award.
This barn became a spot of refuge for the wounded soldiers during the Battle of Gettysburg and continued as a hospital long after the battle ended.
