Description
Today I captured a section of the Hammonds Rocks formation in Pennsylvania. This area is part of the Weverton Formation and is referred to as a Tor, or Rock Castle. These particular rock formations are 530-600 million years old. The best time to see it is in mid October when leaves are peaking in color. If you decide to drive up there you will need a vehicle with a high carriage as the road is extremely rough with huge boulders, pot holes and even water flowing across a section of road. Quite challenging to get up there but worth a look.

Love the combination of the fleeting beauty of autumn leaves and the solid permanence of elegantly shaped rocks, sprinkled with flickering sunshine!
