The Lutheran Seminary Cupola served as a lookout on July 1st, 1863, the first day of the Battle of Gettysburg. From this cupola, Brigadier General John Buford, observed the opening of the battle to the west of Seminary Ridge.
I captured this image late July 1st, 2014 after a thunderstorm. The sky was nearly black with storm clouds and the late evening sun illuminating the cupola provided a stark contrast between sky and cupola.
There is no AI art or photography on my site. The beauty of nature inspires my work. I especially enjoy floral photography, still life, and landscapes as well as working with a variety of subjects in my fine art, which includes colored pencil, watercolor and acrylic paintings. This is not a monument but rather an architectural feature atop the Lutheran Seminary where General Buford observed the first action of the Battle of Gettysburg July 1st 1863. The rest of the building is obscured by darkness and trees.
