Description
A little fox takes a short rest, hidden beside a brick wall in the garden ivy, does she know I can see her?
This is a photography inspired photopainting! This small but clever little fox lives at my niece's home in Virginia and sadly has been pursued and harassed by coyotes for quite some time. You can see the worry and hesitancy in her eyes. Exhausted, she learned that she could slip through the very narrow space between the bars of my niece's fenced in yard and the coyotes could not; so now she takes her day time nap huddled against the house and hidden partially by the shrubs and ivy. She has learned that my niece does not try to harm her, and neither do her two dogs, and they deter the coyotes. Coyotes are beginning to take over many urban areas now and can be a real danger to small dogs as well. They quite often lure pets out from their yards and the pet becomes a snack, so stay alert like the fox, even if you think you and your pets are safe in your neighborhood. My brother in rural Indiana also hears coyotes howling and calling out at night, and he lives in a neighborhood with many houses. All wildlife is coming closer to urban areas now as they lose their traditional territory to development.

Oh, he looks so scared! I'm glad he found a refuge at your nieces yard! So there coyotes! We have our share here in Michigan as well!

Thanks Al, but she will have to leave the yard to hunt, all life has to be wily to survive it seems.
