Rockefeller the owl, visits New York City in error, riding into town inside a Christmas tree destined for Rockefeller Center and when he peers out is astonished by all the bright lights, never have the stars looked so close!
Inspired by the true story of a small saw whet owl found inside the Rockefeller Christmas tree in New York City this year. He was rescued and sent to a wildlife sanctuary and is doing well, a cheerful little story for the holidays, except perhaps a bit more of an adventure for Rockefeller the owl than he had planned when he nested in that tree. This is a digital painting. I'm sure there will be other works of art inspired by this true story as well as a book, but I just could not resist a painting myself. :) This is a second version with Rockefeller in glasses and a scarf that the other work does not include.
